Do I need an account?

No. With “Continue as guest” everything stays on your phone, but guests can't buy Premium, use AI features or join a shared home. With “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple” (iPhone), you can get Premium and, if you agree, your profile is saved in the cloud.

I changed phones. Will my data come with me?

YamYam brings back only your profile, and only if you chose to save it to your account, when you sign in with the same Google or Apple account. It doesn't sync meals, photos, recipes, lists, fridge, weight, workouts or chat to another phone: they only move if you restore a device backup or transfer (for example an iCloud or computer backup on iPhone, or a device-to-device transfer on some Android phones). “Download my data” (Profile › Privacy) gives you a JSON copy for your records, but the app can't import it.

What happens when I sign out?

Signing out deletes your logged meals, saved recipes, shopping list, fridge and the rest of your local data from the phone; your theme and language stay. Your Google or Apple account, your cloud profile (if you saved it) and your Premium are kept. Download your data first if you want a copy.

What's free and what's Premium?

Free: food log, barcode scanner, water, weekly summary, achievements, gym routines, exercise library and workout log, fridge with expiry reminders, shared home (with a Google or Apple account), shopping list, viewing saved meal plans, history, profile, data export and account deletion.

Premium: every AI feature, including food photo analysis, the nutrition chat (text, photo and voice), AI recipes and drinks, AI meal plans and meal swaps, the AI personal trainer, Home tips, and AI help in the fridge (photo, voice, cooking with what you have, storage tips) and in the shopping list (dictation, sort by aisle).

How do I subscribe or restore a purchase?

Sign in with Google or Apple, then tap “See Premium plans” in Profile or on any Premium feature. Prices come from Google Play or the App Store. On a new phone, sign in with the same account; if Premium doesn't appear, tap “Restore purchase” in Profile › Subscription.

How do I cancel? Can I get a refund?

Cancel in Google Play subscriptions or in App Store subscriptions, or in the app with “Manage subscription” (Profile, when Premium is active). Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep Premium until then. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel it. Refunds follow the store's policies: for Apple, at https://reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, under its refund policy, from your order history or Google Play support. Consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK keep their statutory rights, including the right of withdrawal where it applies; see the Terms of Service. For questions about a charge, write to billing@codeenergy.org.

Are there limits on AI features?

Yes, daily limits per user that reset at 00:00 UTC. Off-topic or failed requests don't count toward a feature's limit, but every request counts toward the overall limit.

Why does the app ask for permission before using AI?

AI features send your photo, voice note or message, and some profile details, through our server to Google Gemini. The app asks first with “Your data and AI”, and you can withdraw permission at any time in Profile › Privacy › “Share data with the AI”. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is the AI giving medical advice?

No. YamYam is not a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. AI answers and calorie estimates can be wrong: always check ingredients and allergens, and ask a healthcare professional for medical advice.

An AI answer was wrong or inappropriate. What can I do?

Tap “Report response” under the answer. It appears under every AI answer or suggestion, next to the “AI-generated” label, and opens a short form in the app: choose a reason, add a comment if you want and tap “Send report”. We receive your user ID, the feature, the reason, your comment if you add one, the app version, your operating system and the app language. Up to 300 characters of the answer are included only if you tick the box to include them. You can also tap “Email it instead” to write to support@codeenergy.org.

How do I download my data?

Profile › Privacy › “Download my data”. You get a JSON file with your profile, meals, favourites, recipes, shopping list, fridge, meal plans, weight, water, achievements, workouts, AI trainer and chat, which you can save or share. Photos and audio aren't included (photos stay in the app on your phone). For your shared home data or other data we hold, write to privacy@codeenergy.org.

How do I delete my account?

Profile › Account › “Delete Account & Data”. Cancel any subscription first. See Delete your account for all the details, including how to ask by email.

Which languages does YamYam support?

English, Spanish and French. The app follows your phone's language, and you can change it in Profile › Settings › “Language”.

How do notifications work?

Turn them on in Profile › Settings › “Notifications”. YamYam schedules meal reminders (08:00, 13:00 and 20:00) and fridge expiry alerts on your phone; nothing is sent from a server.

How does the shared home work?

In the Fridge, open “My Home”. A signed-in user can create a home and invite others with “Show QR code”, which they scan in YamYam with “Scan QR code”, or with “Share link” or the 6-character code. The QR code and the link contain only the home code, and when you scan a QR code or open a link, YamYam shows the code and asks before joining. Members share a product list and see each other's names and profile photos. Anyone with a Google or Apple account who has the code, the QR code or the link can view the home, so share them only with people you trust.

Does YamYam work on Huawei phones?

YamYam is coming soon to Huawei AppGallery. On Huawei phones without Google services, Google sign-in and Google Play purchases don't work: you can use YamYam as a guest with the free features, but Premium isn't available there.
